We arrived around 10:30pm at Quito International Airport. After a super-easy, no-visa, no-questions passport control, a non-existent customs process, and a no-problem pick-up by the Quito Airport Suites Hotel shuttle, we got on the highway towards town. After a couple of minutes, right in the middle of nowhere, our van slowed down, pulled over the highway curb and drove on a parallel dirt road for a hundred meters or so before turning into a gate. The hotel grounds were large and seemed beautiful (at least in the dark). The room was perfect for us, and less than half the price of the international airport hotel just a couple of minutes away.
